Grinnell College brings over 1,700 students to our community — many of whom are seeking confidential mental health support outside of campus resources. Red Couch Counseling offers Grinnell College students a fully private, off-campus option with no connection to the college's administrative systems.

We work with students navigating academic stress and burnout, identity and relationship questions, anxiety, depression, trauma, homesickness, and the unique pressures of highly competitive academic environments. Evening appointments are available to work around class and study schedules. Everything discussed in your sessions remains completely confidential.

Our Grinnell office is the only full-service, multi-specialty counseling practice in Poweshiek County. We serve clients from Grinnell, Newton, Montezuma, Brooklyn, Kellogg, Sully, Lynnville, New Sharon, Gilman, and surrounding communities. For clients who cannot easily travel to Grinnell, telehealth appointments are available and work identically to in-person sessions.
