Amber Floyd LISW is located at our Johnston office.

My approach in therapy is about establishing connection with my clients and validating their experiences. I enjoy creating a space where people feel respected, safe, and able to share anything that may be on their minds. The effect of having one’s feelings and thoughts acknowledged and understood is a significant component in working toward progress and relief of symptoms they struggle to manage. I also believe that therapy is a collaborative process. I work together with clients and families to identify goals that enable them to feel empowered to make healthier decisions.

I work with children, teenagers, families' adults who experience anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, family conflict, and difficulty at different stages of life and the changes that come with them. I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). I believe it is important to openly provide services to individuals and families of the LGBTQIA+ community. I’m known for my compassionate, way of communicating with others and my healthy sense of humor that promotes connection with my clients and allows them to feel more comfortable in sessions.

Amber is an LISW with over 10 years' experience. She received her master's degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in Texas.
